Snap Kitchen: “The Intersection of Healthy, Delicious, and Easy”

Snap Kitchen, a healthy grab-and-go restaurant, has finally come to Philadelphia. Founded in Austin, Texas in 2010 by Martin Berson and Penn grad Bradley Radoff, Snap Kitchen provides a wide selection of healthy prepared foods that can be quickly heated for an easy meal.

Just walking into a Snap Kitchen is satisfying to the perfectionist inside of all of us: all the foods are organized by color to represent different diet categories, such as gluten-free, paleo, or vegetarian. Their impressive variety of delicious options ranges from the “Grilled Kale Hoppin’ John” (rice, black beans, kale, sweet potato, hummus, and pumpkin seeds), to lemon ricotta pancakes, to matcha mint iced tea. Especially considering the convenience and quality of the products, Snap Kitchen meals are very affordable at about $7-14 each.

Beth Minkus, marketing manager at the Rittenhouse location, explains that Snap Kitchen is perfect for Penn students. “We are the intersection of healthy, delicious and easy,” Minkus says. “It’s a game-changer to be able to prepare for the day ahead, or even the week ahead, and to have a wide variety of chef-driven and dietitian approved options all in one place!”

Giving back to the community is also important to Snap Kitchen. They have partnered with the hunger relief organization Philabundance, by donating surplus items from each store, every day. Minkus adds, “This is something that Snap Kitchen does in every community, and it’s something that I am very proud of.”

Snap Kitchen currently has four locations in Philadelphia: Old City (243 Market Street), Fairmount (1901 Callowhill Street), Rittenhouse (1901 Chestnut Street), and Malvern (5 S. Morehall Road), and plans to expand to three more locations soon.
