Taste of the Nation Event on October 17th!
Philadelphia’s Taste of the Nation® for No Kid Hungry, the Greater Philadelphia’s Favorite Culinary Event for a Cause, Returns on Monday, October 17, 2016.
What: Residents of Philadelphia area can enjoy the most celebrated food in the region on Monday, October 17, 2016 when Philadelphia’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry comes to the 23rd Street Armory. The annual tasting event will feature the city’s top chefs, restaurateurs, sommeliers and mixologists united for a cause: making sure all children in this country get the healthy food they need, every day. Proceeds from the event benefit No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in America.

Who: Over 40 of the Philadelphia area’s most notable chefs, mixologists, and brewers led by James Beard award nominated Chefs Lee Chizmar of Bolete and Mr. Lee’s Noodles in Bethleham, PA who is available for interviews and quotes upon request.
Why: One in five children in this country struggles with hunger, including more than one in five kids in Pennsylvania. No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger in this nation by ensuring that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast and families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. Already, No Kid Hungry and its partners have connected kids struggling with hunger with 460 million meals.

In 2015, Philadelphia’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry raised enough to help feed children in need more than 400,000 healthy meals. Local beneficiaries include Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger (GPCAH), The Food Trust, and Second Harvest of Lehigh Valley.
